Melanoma Surgery is the primary treatment of all stages of melanoma. A wide local excision is done and includes the removal of normal skin in addition to cancerous skin. Depending on the stage of the melanoma, further treatment and surgery may be necessary. A multi-disciplinary approach with involvement of an oncologist and surgical oncologist may be necessary for advanced forms of melanoma. If you are concerned about a changing mole or have been diagnosed with a melanoma that needs removal, contact our specialists for a consultation. Early detection and treatment is key.
